Good to know: Gutters
Have you ever been driven crazy by a constant, thudding, dripping noise outside AFTER it has rained? It's probably little drops of residual rain water falling down your downspouts and hitting the bottom of the spout with a loud thud. You can fix this by angling your downspout slightly so that the drip hits the side of the downspout before at lands at the bottom. (Or by placing some sort of lead sound-deadening putty at the bottom of the spout - but then you have lead-laden runoff.)
